Held since 2000, the Copa UPSA is the largest intercollegiate tournament in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Organized by the Sports Coordinator of the UPSA, its objective is to integrate athletic competition into the collegiate experience of juniors and seniors.
In recent years, around 1,500 athletes from more than 20 schools have taken part in the disciplines of volleyball, basketball, soccer and futbol 7 (as we call it in Bolivia). Cheerleading also plays a leading role in the event. Semifinals and finals attract several hundred people gathered in a great sports fiesta.
